IPTV/OTT
IPTV (Internet Protocol TeleVision), and OTT (Over The Top), are both using Internet and IP technology to transmit the contents to the final subscribers.
In IPTV,
- IPTV operator use DRM to encrypt the contents, and use CMS to control the contents and subscription.
- Subscriber use IPTV Box to receive and show the contents.
- IPTV is a “private” network, it is limited in some specific area. If subscriber is out of that “private” network, then he can not access to that IPTV network.
- IPTV is widely used in Hotel TV, Private-Network (Company)-TV, etc.
In OTT,
- OTT operator use DRM to encrypt the contents, and use CMS to control the contents and subscription.
- Subscriber use OTT Box to receive and show the contents.
- OTT operator need to provide the public IP address
- OTT are not limited to the specific area. Any place, any subscribers, if he has the internet access, so he can access to the OTT platform.
